The difference between all-star cheerleading and rec is All-star teams have their own cheer gym. Rec cheer teams practice out of multiple rec centers or they might have only one rec center where they practice.

All-star Cheerleading

All-star cheerleading is solely competitive cheerleading. Most all-star teams will not cheer for any other sport team. Some all-star cheerleaders are also on their local high school cheer squad to be able to cheer for other sport teams.

All-star cheerleaders compete across the U.S. but some travel outside of the U.S to compete. All-Star and competitive rec cheerleading are not to much different but in some cases the all-star cheer teams will look down on rec squads.
